I'm in the web video business and my target market is currently wineries concentrating on growing their direct to consumer market in the Napa Valley. In the beginning I was using a paper planner, Planner Pad, to keep track of all my appointments and my todo lists. The problem with that approach is that I would often lose potential clients due to lack of organization. I might have had good intentions for staying in touch with people, but I'd just lose them off the radar as soon as the lead grew a little cold. I had no way of following clients, no matter where they were in the sales cycle, whether they were ready to buy now, in 2 months or some time in the future. What a waste of energy to generate leads if I couldn't keep myself in front of them over the year!
I also felt very overwhelmed with the shear task of running my business. I felt that I had reached a ceiling of possible income that I could make. I wanted very much to break the ceiling and feel that I was running my business rather than the other way around.

The biggest piece to my own business growth puzzle is that I am now ready to hire assistants and other support staff to further the company and I know that I can plug them into BigContacts easily and effectively. Many of the tasks that I used to take on, I can now assign to someone else, freeing me up to concentrate on working on the business, instead of in the business. The transition is as seamless as assigning a task to the staff at the right time and when I'm ready to let go, task by task. It's made my transition away from technician to CEO a more gradual and doable process.
