I work in the mortgage industry as a private money lender. My target clients are retail loan officers with borrowers that buy & fix property to either re-sell or refinance to a long term loan. I have thousands of loan officers currently in my database.
I was using an old version of ACT and knew it inside and out. I updated contacts daily, sent out emails and letters, and even designed my own database layouts...
But as we opened multiple locations it became obvious we needed a web based solution. Something multiple employees could access in locations all over the country. Traveling also became a real headache as I would try to manage my contacts on a laptop, but not have it updated on the server in the office.

BigContacts has created real value for our company because of the importance we place on customer relations. Think of our phone ringing as the sound a cash register makes and then realize tracking those incoming calls is like digging for gold! You see, when a loan officer calls and says he has a loan for us, the sales cycle can take time. Being able to attach files, photos of property and all notes pertaining to a loan is invaluable when the loan officer calls back in a week, a month or a year. Everything we talked about, all the documents sent & received, anything pertaining to that client is there at the click-of-a-mouse.
On many occasions, when a client calls, we'll enter their phone number from the caller id into the BigContacts search box and in seconds know everything we need to know before the conversation even begins. These clients are unaware of what we're doing and many assume we've committed to memory who they are and the loans they send us. We like that and so do they...
I've use BigContacts coming up on three years (July 2008). I actually paid for BigContacts for 6-months before I could pull myself away from our stand alone version of ACT. I resisted change even though I knew we had to convert to a web based CRM.
Thankfully our Director of Operations did not give up. He was tasked with taking everything we do in our business and recommend a web solution. He researched online options and brought me four companies he felt could help us. The final decision came down to price. BigContacts had all the features of an expensive site like saleforce.com without the huge cost! Add to that how easy it is to train new employees on BigContacts which allows them to start "digging for gold" sooner and BigContacts.com has become one of the best business decisions we've ever made."
